Hello! I am Kelly Grey, owner of Wellspring Integrative Counseling, PLLC. I earned my Master of Education, as well as, my Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC 67206), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC 4505) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS 882).
I am a life-long learner who is passionate about providing individualized, effective support to my clients. I have had the joy of working to support mental health and wellness in my community in different capacities for over twenty years. I believe in a client-led, creative approach to therapy in which the client is offered a clinically informed and spiritually inspired perspective to their unique situation. In addition, tools are provided with encouragement to fully engage in the therapeutic process. In a spiritual sense, I believe there is precious treasure deposited in each individual and it is my honor and passion to help you both uncover and live out this truth. I love working with faith and spirituality as desired and directed by my client. My training and experience are balanced in working with both Christian and non-Christian clients. I am a hope-anchored clinician who holds an unapologetic belief in our ability to transform in life changing, meaningful ways.
My treatment approach is eclectic and integrative, incorporating cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, brief, systems and other trauma-informed and evidence-based treatments in which I have received training. I work effectively with clients who are comfortable with the therapeutic process as well as those who are anxious of, or resistant to, change. Psychoeducation may be used to inform and elicit change as appropriate. Talk therapy will assist in seeking patterns of behavior that are evident in relationship to self/others as revealed in personal narratives. I enjoy using experiential intervention, humor and metaphor to create insight and encourage new ways of relating to self and others. Although the work of therapy is serious and anchored in life experience, there is often great benefit from adopting a creative and playful approach to healing.
Please let me know if I can assist you or a person you would like to refer to my care. Of note, I do not work directly with insurance. I do provide super bills to clients on request to file with thier insurance provider. I am also pleased to offer a sliding scale for clients who qualify per established guidelines. I am always happy to connect and help you decide if I am the right fit for your needs. I am currently accepting both virtual and in person clients so feel free reach out!

I view therapy as a collaborative experience and a safe place where people can explore their thoughts, feelings, and relationships. I believe that deep change and growth is experienced through a clear knowing of oneself and a healthy connection to a support system.
I work with women and couples in a number of areas including relationship distress, parenting, identity development, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and life transition. Therapy always builds on a strong relationship between therapist and client first. In addition to the therapeutic relationship, I work from a systems and attachment perspective utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Strength Based approaches and enjoy integrating people’s faith in the work of psychotherapy.
I am also available for consultation with churches and Christian non-profits who desire to build healthy organizations and for graduate students in the field of counseling and psychotherapy as they navigate the transition into clinical practice.

Description of practice: I am passionate bout positive psychology, which focuses on strength's, resources and positive emotions and experiences which can enrich people's lives. My approach is holistic-addressing emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual health. I also employ cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy and Emotional Focused Therapy with my clients.
Whether it is a desire to restore relationship, a longing to restore hope, or a goal to restore health, counseling can be a beneficial way to achieve growth. I believe life provides us with many opportunities for restoration and that setbacks or mistakes can be overcome. Resilience means learning to "bounce forward" after difficulties. However, at times, we all can use support- a caring person to help restore our balance. I hope to have the opportunity to assist in that journey.

Welcome! It is such a privilege to be invited into the lives of the families that come into my office! Whether you have been referred or are looking for the right therapist, I’m happy to provide answers to your questions.
I specialize in child therapy and pre-teens (along with their families) who are experiencing anxiety, family stress, changes in family structure due to death or divorce, grief/loss, trauma symptoms, ADD/ADHD, behavioral issues, and difficulties adjusting to developmental changes. I also love to work with parents to help them build healthy communication skills with their children, manage difficult behaviors, and foster a strong attachment relationship. In order to help children reach their fullest potential, I use Play Therapy, as well as elements of Expressive Arts Therapy during sessions. These help to creatively expand the boundaries of the mind and provide a non-threatening environment for children to make sense of their inner world. To understand more about why we play, click here.
In addition to child therapy, I am also passionate about working with multicultural issues, including family stress as a result of immigration, language barriers/communication, etc. I also enjoy working with families and adults experiencing life changes, relationship stress, and self-image issues. I believe that each individual, child, and family is unique—because of this, I integrate different models to fit each client. In particular, I use play therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy, all evidence-based practices. I believe in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit, and integrate faith and spirituality into therapy to the extent that it is comfortable to you. I learn a great deal from you as my client and see it as a privilege to be invited into your life. I approach therapy with compassion, playfulness, and openness and respect your courageous decision to pursue therapy.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) here at SureHope Counseling and Training Center. My education background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech. I am currently receiving supervision toward certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). My background and training includes clinical experience at Pregnancy Resource Center, a county agency for teens and families engaging in family therapy and parenting groups, eating disorder treatment, as well as volunteer experiences with DivorceCare for Kids.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions! I look forward to working with you.

Description of practice: I enjoy working with children/teens ages 10 and up, families, and couples.
Practice type: group practice / non-profit counseling center
Insurance accepted (if yes, what companies): Out-of- Network (will submit paperwork for you if you have out-of- network benefits)
Description of self/services for directory: I believe that therapy is a relational art more than a science. God can use a variety of means to bring healing in our lives, and I tend to resonate most with psychological principles observed in Cognitive-Behavioral theory and Adlerian individual psychology. I don’t think any question, doubt, mistake, or broken relationship is beyond the scope of grace and healing. Therefore I treat every client as made in the image of God, and I strive to inspire others with hope for renewed purpose and meaning from unwanted seasons of hardship. I have a wide background of counseling experience with adults in non-profit adoption, campus ministry and church settings, and I’ve also enjoyed working with children and teens in both community mental health and the public school system. I counsel from a judgement-free zone with humor as much as possible, and I want to help others feel comfortable in their skin as they walk through a journey of change. Let’s make change less painful!
Areas that match your field of specialization: I am currently enjoying work in group practice with troubled teens, abuse and trafficking survivors, engaged and married couples (I am a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator), and individuals struggling with anxiety and/or depression.

She has special experience treating emotional processing, living joyfully with physical illness, and healing from family dysfunction.

She understands the pain and agony that many face as a result of living in an imperfect world. She is also deeply aware of the freedom that follows healing and loves bringing hope into painful situations. Her helping approach focuses on meeting individuals in their unique need and providing a personalized plan to attain therapy goals. In order to achieve this she uses an integrated structure created from Biblical principles and sound psychological and clinical findings
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
Therapeutic approaches are selected for each client based on their presenting problem, the client’s therapeutic style preferences, and approaches that have empirically supported evidence. Person-centered therapy is used to gain understanding of the client’s concerns, and to collaboratively establish therapeutic goals. Once a holistic picture has been created, therapies such as internal family systems, Gestalt therapy, or systemic theories may be implemented to reach therapy goals. Misty believes that pursuing therapy is a sign of great strength. It is a willingness to explore yourself and your experiences which leads to greater insight and healing.
