Description of self/services for directory: My education includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and am also currently pursuing certification as a Registered Play Therapist. I have experience working in community-based agencies as well as office settings, providing mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults.
Before beginning graduate school, I was blessed to have the opportunity to serve on a mission team in Argentina for two years. Through this experience, I gained a greater appreciation for a beautiful country and a deeper understanding of other cultures. I also speak Spanish and enjoy working with Latino families.
Throughout graduate school, I completed an internship at a pregnancy resource center, providing crisis counseling and facilitating a program focused on parenting skills training. As a mother to two young children I love helping others on their journey through pregnancy and the postpartum stage. Motherhood is a huge blessing but also comes with many challenges. I have a passion for walking alongside other mothers as they encounter both the joys and frustrations of parenting.
When requested by the client, I seek to help others develop a deeper understanding of God's presence and purpose in their circumstances. While my counseling orientation is based on a Christian worldview, I also utilize other approaches to therapy based upon client need. I have received training in play therapy and utilize this approach when counseling preschool and elementary age children. I have always loved art and often use creative approaches with all ages. It is my goals to work with you, wherever you are, and help you experience a new sense of peace and hope.

I earned my Masters in Christian Counseling degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. My undergraduate work was done at Columbia International University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Church Ministries.
During my Master’s program, I had an opportunity to work with geriatric population in an assisted living facility, and as an intern in a wellness center providing counseling to individuals, couples, families and adolescents. Prior to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor I worked for fourteen years as a Pastoral Counselor for a nonprofit organization and working extensively with men dealing with problematic sexual behaviors and relational problems.
As a counselor I employ an eclectic approach in counseling using a variety of methods and modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Experiential Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Description of self/services for directory:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) at Agape Christian Counseling. I view counseling as a safe place in which we will work as a team to create the change that will help you through your struggles. I can help you process your emotions and learn coping skills in order to create healthy ways of thinking and new habits that will be beneficial in your life.
My areas of interest include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, family issues, and a variety of other issues relating to life and/or mental health. I see both teenagers and adults. I use an integrative perspective in counseling, drawing mainly from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, family systems, and gestalt therapy.
Although I am a therapist at Agape Christian Counseling, not all of my clients are Christians or want to incorporate spirituality into therapy. This is completely up to each client and their own unique preferences. I can offer the incorporation of spirituality and Christian beliefs in my counseling sessions at your request.

Let’s work together to get to the root cause of your distress and decrease problematic symptoms. My name is Kelly Roberson, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina (LCMHCA #A19095) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I enjoy working with teens and adults (individual/parents/couples). I have clinical counseling experience with anxiety, depression, parenting, ADD/ADHD, adjustment issues, life transitions (middle school, high school, college, divorce), loss/grief, trauma-and-stressor-related disorders (PTSD), narcissistic abuse, relationships, and couples therapy. Additionally, I have expertise in therapeutic art, career exploration, goal setting, and helping clients discover their purpose to find meaning in life.
I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with high distinction from Liberty University (2022) and a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design (1995). I am an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (candidate), a Certified SYMBIS facilitator (Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts), and Gottman Level 1 trained.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and Connecticut and am certified to practice in Florida. At this time I offer Telehealth services only and do not currently see clients in person.
I specialize in treating anxiety and anxiety related disorders, relationship issues, abuse recovery, religious trauma, and major life transitions throughout the lifespan.
I take a multimodal approach to treatment in order to best fit each individual client’s situation and needs. I primarily utilize strategies of Insight oriented therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), as well as integrating aspects of psychodynamic, emotionally focussed (EFT), and Narrative Therapy.
I believe principles of diversity, inclusion and cultural understanding are close to God’s heart and therefore should be seen as essential priorities of the church.
For as long as I can remember my faith has been a central part of my life and identity. I have experienced many sides of what it means to be a part of the church and I believe God's heart for people is to bring healing, redemption and restoration. This is the foundation of my passion for helping and encouraging clients in their journey to healing.
1 John 4:19, “We Love because He first loved us.”
While I consider my faith in Christ to be pivotal to who I am and how I care for my clients, I also recognize that faith, religion and the church can be a significant source of trauma and pain. It is for this reason I believe so strongly in the importance and power of professional Christian counseling. This is not a place for deepening wounds but for finding healing. Whether you come from a Christian background and are now questioning what you believe or are living out of your faith as the foundation of your life and worldview, I would love the opportunity to walk through that journey with you!

Welcome! It is such a privilege to be invited into the lives of the families that come into my office! Whether you have been referred or are looking for the right therapist, I’m happy to provide answers to your questions.
I specialize in child therapy and pre-teens (along with their families) who are experiencing anxiety, family stress, changes in family structure due to death or divorce, grief/loss, trauma symptoms, ADD/ADHD, behavioral issues, and difficulties adjusting to developmental changes. I also love to work with parents to help them build healthy communication skills with their children, manage difficult behaviors, and foster a strong attachment relationship. In order to help children reach their fullest potential, I use Play Therapy, as well as elements of Expressive Arts Therapy during sessions. These help to creatively expand the boundaries of the mind and provide a non-threatening environment for children to make sense of their inner world. To understand more about why we play, click here.
In addition to child therapy, I am also passionate about working with multicultural issues, including family stress as a result of immigration, language barriers/communication, etc. I also enjoy working with families and adults experiencing life changes, relationship stress, and self-image issues. I believe that each individual, child, and family is unique—because of this, I integrate different models to fit each client. In particular, I use play therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy, all evidence-based practices. I believe in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit, and integrate faith and spirituality into therapy to the extent that it is comfortable to you. I learn a great deal from you as my client and see it as a privilege to be invited into your life. I approach therapy with compassion, playfulness, and openness and respect your courageous decision to pursue therapy.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) here at SureHope Counseling and Training Center. My education background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech.
