MA, LCMHCS, LMFT,
AAMFT Approved SupervisorHi. I’m Carol and I enjoy helping individuals, couples or families who find themselves struggling in life and relationships. I feel that our working relationship is very important and strive to earn your trust and create a safe place to dive deeper. I love helping people connect the dots from the past to the present and explore their stories using evidence-based models of therapy. I feel strongly that deeper and more holistic approaches to a therapy journey create more fundamental and long-lasting change.Clinical Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Experiential Therapy Training
As a certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, I am very passionate about teaching this model of therapy to whomever may benefit from this approach – new therapists, counselors new to this approach, marriage and family therapists, pastors or pastoral counselors. This evidence-based model of therapy proves to be transformative on a deep level – getting to and healing the roots of wounds that may impact you or your clients today. Through a group or workshop setting, I love the power of developing the person of the therapist. Group training offers the opportunity to learn these approaches to therapy and look at your own story for personal growth.
Trauma
I have a special interest in gently helping you explore the impact of the hard experiences you may have had that impact you today. We will look at all aspects of your life that have shaped you, at your pace and help you heal and find peace and freedom in this journey. This can take place in individual or couples therapy.
Or, you may be interested in getting deep healing through more intensive group therapy. No matter the level of trauma, exploring with others in a group may the right setting for you. If you feel like you are alone in your struggles, a group can be a powerful and supportive environment in which to heal.
Addiction
Addictive behavior can be a block to living the life you want to live – there is no shame in admitting you may struggle in this area. I love to help people explore addictive patterns and the roots of these that may have come (in part) from adverse childhood experiences. In addition, I welcome helping those who have significant others caught in the web of addiction heal from the wounds this disease creates in relationships.
Christian Counseling
As a Christian, I am uniquely prepared to integrate your faith into our therapeutic process. Knowing that many have been wounded spiritually or have other spiritual perspectives, I whole-heartedly respect your beliefs and worldview. It is my honor to walk with you, respecting your perspective – this is your journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) at Agape Christian Counseling. I view counseling as a safe place in which we will work as a team to create the change that will help you through your struggles. I can help you process your emotions and learn coping skills in order to create healthy ways of thinking and new habits that will be beneficial in your life.
My areas of interest include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, family issues, and a variety of other issues relating to life and/or mental health. I see both teenagers and adults. I use an integrative perspective in counseling, drawing mainly from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, family systems, and gestalt therapy.
Although I am a therapist at Agape Christian Counseling, not all of my clients are Christians or want to incorporate spirituality into therapy. This is completely up to each client and their own unique preferences. I can offer the incorporation of spirituality and Christian beliefs in my counseling sessions at your request.
If you are going through a hard time or if you are struggling emotionally, professional counseling may be the best way to help you live the life you want to live. I would be honored to come alongside you to help you through this tough time.
Areas that match your field of specialization (i.e. anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, etc.):
Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, family issues, divorce, life transitions, peer relationships, school issues, self-esteem, stress, addiction, trauma, and codependency.

Hello! I’m Pamela Adkins, a licensed clinical mental health counselor. I consider it a privilege to help adults, adolescents, and couples better manage the difficulties life brings, whether it be anxiety, depression, relational or situational occurrences. Often, I find that people think way too little of themselves and have a distorted view of what God thinks and says about them. Unfortunately, life experiences can diminish our self-worth. Exploring all these things in counseling and making space to hold the good and the “not so good” can bring healing and wholeness.I received my undergraduate degree in Christian Education at Lenoir-Rhyne University with a minor in Business. I earned a masters diploma in biblical counseling from Light University Online. And recently completed a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. The therapeutic modalities that I align most closely with include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. Integrating the Word of God into our counseling is of utmost importance to me as I believe this is where true and lasting change takes place. For the last 3 years, I have had the joy of working with women recovering from addiction. Along with the addiction came a great deal of trauma. Each ladies’ experience was different, and I believe in listening and doing my best to understand each person’s unique story. I take a wholistic approach, treating the mind, body, and spirit.I welcome the opportunity to walk with you through these next steps of your healing journey. Please feel free to contact me at (704) 584-9305 or [email protected] if you have any questions.
