Hello, my name is Debra Martin. I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy. As a play therapist, I work with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, and behavioral concerns. These issues can be related to life stressors, such as family adjustments, trauma, ADD/ADHD symptoms, and developmental life stages. Additionally, I have significant experience counseling women of all ages.
I utilize a Person-Centered approach to counseling while integrating modalities based on clients needs. Navigating life can be emotionally exhausting.. It is an honor for you and/or your child to consider me joining you in this journey of life and emotional healing

Description of self/services for directory: My education includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and am also currently pursuing certification as a Registered Play Therapist. I have experience working in community-based agencies as well as office settings, providing mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults.
Before beginning graduate school, I was blessed to have the opportunity to serve on a mission team in Argentina for two years. Through this experience, I gained a greater appreciation for a beautiful country and a deeper understanding of other cultures. I also speak Spanish and enjoy working with Latino families.
Throughout graduate school, I completed an internship at a pregnancy resource center, providing crisis counseling and facilitating a program focused on parenting skills training. As a mother to two young children I love helping others on their journey through pregnancy and the postpartum stage. Motherhood is a huge blessing but also comes with many challenges. I have a passion for walking alongside other mothers as they encounter both the joys and frustrations of parenting.
When requested by the client, I seek to help others develop a deeper understanding of God's presence and purpose in their circumstances. While my counseling orientation is based on a Christian worldview, I also utilize other approaches to therapy based upon client need. I have received training in play therapy and utilize this approach when counseling preschool and elementary age children. I have always loved art and often use creative approaches with all ages. It is my goals to work with you, wherever you are, and help you experience a new sense of peace and hope.

Hello! I am Kelly Saylor and I am a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist and co-founder of SureHope Counseling & Training Center. My education includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNCC and a master’s degree in Christian counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
I have a varied background which includes work in a psychosocial clubhouse (helping those with mental challenges learn social and job related skills), pregnancy resource center, hospitals, Hospice organizations, mental health and family private practices and church. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups.
I specialize in counseling couples concerning dating, engagement and marital issues. I also offer couple intensives and train other therapists and church staff in working with couples. Concerning mental health, I work with adults who deal with the challenges of anxiety, depression, and Bipolar disorder. Counseling individuals dealing with sexual abuse and anger management issues is another area of expertise of mine. Lastly, working with individuals facing life’s transitional struggles is another area I enjoy; these include: adapting to college, career planning and transitioning into retirement.
I am uniquely trained as a Christian counselor. I believe that we are whole persons, with physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects. Whether we include discussion of the spiritual dimension of life in our time together will be up to you. This spiritual perspective is integrated with the perspectives of narrative, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral and family systems understandings of how people work. These are well-established and researched methods of therapy that are widely respected as being effective.
Overall, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s peaks and valleys with integrity, wisdom and joy! You can learn more about me, special offers and upcoming events, and gain various resources at my personal website at kellyscounseling.com.
