Dr. Mark Bowman has worked in the field of Mental Health / Substance Abuse for over forty-five years. He has been trained in eclectic Mental Health professional settings; directed in-patient psychiatric hospital programs; served as the Program Director for four hospital in-patient programs; provided individual and group therapies in an outpatient private practice setting; provided individual and group therapy for an I.O.P: Intensive Outpatient Program; conducted Case Management of clientele; and taught didactic psychoeducational groups. He served as a Chaplain in large Hospitals in Atlanta and Memphis, served as a Chaplain for a nursing home / elder care facility, served as a Counselor / Pastor for the Biblical Counseling Ministry of a Mega-church in Memphis, and taught didactically while leading psychoeducational support groups. He has taught College level classes. He has made multiple trips to the Danai’/ Navajo Indian reservation in New Mexico and taught S.U.D.: Substance Abuse Classes. He served as a Chaplin / Clinician with the TN Disaster Strike Team in providing mental health debriefings.
