Description of self/services for directory:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) at Agape Christian Counseling. I view counseling as a safe place in which we will work as a team to create the change that will help you through your struggles. I can help you process your emotions and learn coping skills in order to create healthy ways of thinking and new habits that will be beneficial in your life.
My areas of interest include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, family issues, and a variety of other issues relating to life and/or mental health. I see both teenagers and adults. I use an integrative perspective in counseling, drawing mainly from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, family systems, and gestalt therapy.
Although I am a therapist at Agape Christian Counseling, not all of my clients are Christians or want to incorporate spirituality into therapy. This is completely up to each client and their own unique preferences. I can offer the incorporation of spirituality and Christian beliefs in my counseling sessions at your request.
If you are going through a hard time or if you are struggling emotionally, professional counseling may be the best way to help you live the life you want to live. I would be honored to come alongside you to help you through this tough time.
Areas that match your field of specialization (i.e. anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, etc.):
Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, family issues, divorce, life transitions, peer relationships, school issues, self-esteem, stress, addiction, trauma, and codependency.
I am a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider offering services via telehealth to residents of NC and SC. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (NC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NC), Licensed Professional Counselor (SC) and National Certified Counselor. I have advanced training in Internal Family Systems and experience working with individuals struggling with diverse challenges, ranging from temporarily overwhelming stressors to life-altering losses or circumstances. Prior experience gives me distinct insight into the demands of corporate culture.
I am one of only a few therapists in Charlotte certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). EFT focuses on helping you reconnect with your partner to create a safer, more secure bond, such that you can get the kind of comfort and understanding you desire within the relationship. I am also a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and provide premarital counseling.
I am uniquely trained as a Christian counselor, with a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Being passionate about providing a safe and supportive environment for all who come to see me, I am committed to do all I can to make you feel welcome and free from judgment regardless of where you are in your faith walk.
